Hello Colleagues! It is my great honor and pleasure to announce that the 2nd Tokyo International Endoscopy Live Course (Tokyo Live 2017) will take place at Showa University Koto-Toyosu Hospital in Tokyo on April 29 and 30, 2017. This newly launched 2-day Live Demonstration will cover a diverse spectrum of cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy. Topics include ERCP, EUS-FNA, ESD, Balloon-enteroscopy, NBI with magnification and more. In addition, detailed technical aspects of POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) and ARMS (Anti-Reflux Mucosectomy) will be demonstrated. Last year, three world renowned experts from different countries joined us at Tokyo Live 2016; Dr. Robert Hawes from the United States, Dr. Stefan Seewald from Switzerland, and Dr. Philip Chiu from Hong Kong. They presented live demonstrations, lectures and also discussed cutting-edge techniques of ESD, EUS-FNA and ERCP. Clinical live demo by overseas faculty were done under clinical professor license from the Japanese government. The 2nd Tokyo Live in 2017 will involve distinguished faculties: Horst Neuhaus, MD. (Germany) and Norio Fukami, MD. (USA) in addition to last year's faculty.
The objective of "Tokyo Live" is to share and disseminate the highest-level of advanced endoscopic skills and techniques by world-renowned endoscopists and encourage young endoscopists to further refine and improve their skills and techniques and utilize this knowledge to benefit and serve their patient population. The official language of the course will be in English, allowing attendees to clearly understand, learn and discuss the various highly advanced endoscopic techniques presented. The course will be held mainly on the 9th floor of Showa University Koto-Toyosu hospital. There is easy access to the hospital from either Tokyo-Haneda airport (20 min by taxi) or Tokyo-Narita airport (40 min by taxi). As the course director, I encourage all of you to join this English- speaking international live demonstration course in Tokyo.
